Daryl Haegley

Darryl Peek is a dynamic Information Technology (IT) leader, strategist, consultant, project manager, subject matter expert, acquisition professional and organizational change agent with extensive experience in utilizing and implementing business systems and processes to drive results. He holds a proven track record of success in the federal government and the intelligence communities.

Darryl exhibits and models influential leadership and communication skills while promoting a collaboration amongst leaders and peers. He improves efficiency of IT security operations by developing solutions which meet business objectives in addition to the implementation of quality strategies. Darryl has strong domain knowledge with respect to Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library version 3 (ITIL) standards and best practices. His knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) standards along with legislation which includes Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) cybersecurity related memorandums makes him a formidable authority in various technology topic areas.

Darryl is a leader in the federal government and uses is domain expertise to deliver value in order to meet the mission of the agency he supports. Darryl exhibits a positive attitude while promoting a cooperative working atmosphere through effective interpersonal techniques. Many of Darryl’s responsibilities have significant impact which aide in the delivery of critical projects and programs to further the cybersecurity landscape in the federal government. Darryl was responsible for input and analysis of multiple legislative requirements which include FISMA 2014, M-10-28, M-10,15, M-14-03, M-15-01 and others.

Darryl’s career includes leadership roles at Lockheed Martin Corporation, where he was a Systems Engineer and Systems Integrator for imagery intelligence. He also worked at Pragmatics Incorporated as a Business Developer, Program Manager, Corporate QA Manager and strategist where he was involved and led multiple activities which included the achievement of CMMI Level 5, ISO 20000, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications.

Darryl has a passion for research and developing parallels around complex topics and emerging technologies. He is a firm believer that simplicity of message is necessary when discussing topics people care about. Darryl’s areas of interest are Critical Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Systems Engineering, Project Management, Performance Metrics, Training and Governance.

Darryl holds a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a certified PMP, ITIL v3 Foundations Professional and Six Sigma Green Belt.

He currently lives in Clarksburg, MD with his wife and two children.
