LeannOliverLeAnn Oliver joined the Department of Energy in September of 2010.  For the last year she has served as the Associate CIO for IT Policy and Governance where she has responsibility for the department’s governance process as well as the capital planning and investment process.  Additionally, she oversees the development of policies on a variety of IT subjects and is currently working on the implementation of FITARA.

 Initially, she served as DOE’s Director of Weatherization and Intergovernmental Programs, where she managed $11 billion in Recovery Act funding in 3 grant programs.  Subsequently, she served as the Senior Advisor for Clean Energy and Rural Development to the Deputy Assistant Secretaries for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

Prior to joining DOE she served for four years at the Department of Agriculture where she was the Deputy Administrator for Cooperative Programs with a variety of responsibilities related to grant programs and supporting farmer cooperatives that were interested in expanding into renewable energy.  She started her federal career at the Small Business Administration where she spent most of her time in the financing programs, then serving as the career executive responsible for over $120 million in annual grants to organizations that provided entrepreneurial training.  She holds an MPA in Public Finance from State University of New York at Albany, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Willamette University.
