Michael ValivullahDr. Michael Valivullah is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). He was also the Director of Information Technology (IT) and the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at NASS. Dr. Michael Valivullah is a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) in the U.S. Federal Government.

Dr. Valivullah has spent over 12 years in the public sector and over 15 years in the private industry and non-profits. He served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and as ACIO, Chief of Programs and Planning and Chief Enterprise Architect at the U.S. Capitol Police, U.S. Senate. He also acted as an Executive Director (TDY) of Systems Engineering at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Before joining the federal government, he worked in the private sector at EDS (HP), Lockheed Martin, FINRA (NASDAQ), US Airways, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, FreddieMac, Sabre, and MCI Telecom. He also served as a faculty at Georgetown University and Virginia Tech.

Dr. Valivullah was a certified PMP, CISSP, Federal CIO, Enterprise Architect, Web and Data Strategy, BigData, Data Quality and Data Warehousing. He was also certified in ITIL.

He has been awarded the ‘FedMentor’ of the year’ award in 2013 along with Senator Mark Warner and GSA Administrator Dan Tangerlini.
