Thomas C. Pedagno is a 1984 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science. From 1984 – 1986 he served as Deck Watch Officer aboard USCGC ACUSHNET in Gulfport, Mississippi. From 1986 – 1988 Mr. Pedagno was the Commanding Officer of USCGC POINT HOPE out of Sabine Pass, Texas. He then transferred to Coast Guard Headquarters as Computer Center Supervisor for the Office of Personnel (G-P). Mr. Pedagno received a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from George Mason University in 1993. From 1993 – 1995 he served as the Commanding Officer of USCGC TYBEE out of San Diego, California. From 1995 – 1999 Mr. Pedagno served as a Project Officer at the Coast Guard Research and Development Center in Groton, Connecticut. From 1999 – 2002 Mr. Pedagno served as Commanding Officer of the USCG Electronics Systems Support Unit Kodiak. From 2002 – 2005 Mr. Pedagno served at Coast Guard Headquarters serving as the Telecommunications Policy and Planning Division Chief, Office of Communications Systems (CG-621). Mr. Pedagno retired from active duty in 2005 and worked for three years as a government contract program manager. He is certified as a Project Management Professional and an ITIL Expert. He is currently employed by the Coast Guard as the Chief of the Enterprise Services & Operations Division at the Telecommunication and Information Systems Command in Alexandria, VA where he is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Coast Guard Information Technology Enterprise Infrastructure. He comes to you today in this capacity and as a representative of the Coast Guard CIO, Rear Admiral Lytle.
