IT Security Analyst & Privacy Officer
Mr. Felix Uribe is an IT security professional with extensive experience in the field of information assurance and software developmentin the private and public sectors.
He is currently the Privacy Act Officer for the National Park Service (NPS). At the Park Service, he also served as the Chief of IT Security Operations in the development, implementation and enforcement of Bureau security and privacy policies and in the areas of Vulnerability Assessment, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Anti-virus program, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities of all NPS IT systems.
At The Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General (DOJ OIG), he served as an IT Security Auditor (Infosec) responsible for planning and conducting IT security audits and network vulnerability assessmentsfor classified and unclassified IT systems and programs.
At Mercy College in New York, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Information Science and is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) where he teaches Cybersecurity courses.
In his personal time, Mr. Uribe enjoys searching the web for “good” data for his personal website Uribe100.com, which provides news, links and information in the fields of Cybersecurity and Privacy.
Mr. Uribe holds a Bachelor and Master degree in Computer Science from Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York.
